this song was written by liz and it rocks my world. every verse gets more intense and gives me hope for the hard road. we're doing this song with our newly formed band "the shiz." i recorded her guitar track from rehearsal the other night and we layered the rest. probably drums and harmonica still to come.. maybe even some lead guitar. we'll have to see. but this song speaks no matter what. can't wait to get down the others. i'm thinking the shiz's debut album will be the one we submit for the challenge.

another shiz song by liz. surprisingly liz was up for laying this one down today as well. i spent the most time on the keys 'cause i don't play in Ab minor all that much. this is so old school neil it totally trips me out...rock out jam deal that's all brutal and stuff. so bad ass. gotta mix the keys down later but it's ok for now.

had to go get liz and stuff. lot of taking out. like the oohs in the second interlude.will upload when we get home from band practice. WOW! band practice was a doozey tonight! we worked! holy mother...anyway, didn't really get to listen to the track 'til i just got home. sounds a little corny and a little rushed but i do like the tune...though i have to admit the band plays it better! woohoo! long live the shiz!

02/02 - War No More

took the day off because i thought i was going to be out of town today anyways. ot a lot of work done this morning now that the studio is better organized. the session went pretty smoothly the the mix revealed the keys were way too bassy. i find i'm too impatient these days to worry about techinical/sound issues. i'm just recording the songs with total disregard for engineering. maybe i'll manifest a great engineer this way. who knows. so i'm posting this one for shon. prolly should have recorded it long ago but here it is. time to go pick up my sweet one!

was going to be on the road so i had to get it done as quickly as possible before bed. started right after midnight. headphones were at the big house along with adaptor for old phones. sent everything through the stick and it worked out ok. couldn't mix it well cause the output was mono. ran into upload error on imeem. freezing cold cause i turned off the heat. lost my pirated connection. probably too much bandwith. may have to upload from pjs before we head out of town. nope. 3rd time's a charm. time for bed.
